My
name is Michele DeVito, originally born and raised in Brooklyn. I come from a tight knit Italian family, I was taught to be kind and appreciate honesty over all. When I turned 15 id spend my Summers in Flanders, Long Island. In 1994 we purchased a spacious 3 acre farmland in Jamesport. There is where I have my business along with my home, its beautiful to be surrounded by such nature. I decided to properly name it Colorful Gardens, in a field of beauty it felt right.
Since 2004 Colorful Gardens has been producing dozens of different species of flowers & herbs. I can be found catering to the fields of beautiful flowers like annuals or perennials in the green houses. Currently I can be found working in the medical field as an assistant a few days out of the week, I find it to be very fulfilling to continue to help people in need. I have had a wonderful Business relationship for over 20 years to my best friend Manuel, who is now a significant part of my life. I have 3 bright children, my one son is an EMT, my other son is business analyst & my daughter is a teacher.
One of the most influential people that I’ve met happen to be one of my business partners. Her name was Ilene Porter, she possessed such a bright magnet energy. Any where she went her positive and bright energy could be felt, with it came some of the most valuable life lessons. Ilene taught me to stay structured, smile often, and appreciate the moments we were blessed with. Mrs. Porter passed of breast cancer in 2010, we all feel that she was taken too early. Her memory will continue to live on through our work ethic, our beautiful flowers and our positive out look on life.
